Fresh Perspectives on Pilgrimage and Place

Call for Papers: deadline 15 March 2017
Conference: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 to Wednesday, July 19, 2017, University of York, UK

In autumn 2017 our interdisciplinary team (History, Social Anthropology, Religious Studies, Theology, Archaeology, Art History and 3D visualisation) from the University of York, Open University and University of Toronto complete this 3 year AHRC funded project on ‘Pilgrimage and England’s Cathedrals, Past and Present’.
This final year conference is designed as an opportunity to share project research outcomes in conversation with others working in the fields of pilgrimage and both journey- and place-related spirituality. We therefore invite proposals from individuals (20 minute papers) or groups/networks (90 minute sessions). Proposals (up to 250 words) should be sent to Dr Dee Dyas (dee.dyas [at] york.ac.uk) by March 15, 2017. Those invited to present papers will be notified by March 21.
